Learning is fundamental to community, which is why Marley Park formed alliances with school districts and universities to extend teaching beyond the classroom.

Committed to providing an environment that nurtures and engages an informed community Marley Park Elementary School and Legacy Traditional School sit at the heart of Marley Park. The community is part of the Dysart Unified School District.

Marley Park Elementary School

Adjacent to the 25-acre Heritage Park and within walking distance from most homes, Marley Park Elementary School is a K-8 school that recently earned recognition as a “highly performing” school based on Arizona AIMS tests and other factors.

The school offers Cambridge Checkpoint Preparatory Academy, an advanced academic program for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Sponsored by Cambridge University in England, Checkpoint offers a rigorous and relevant curriculum, culminating with a series of comprehensive examinations at the end of 8th grade that are scored by Cambridge University, and compared to students across the world.

Legacy Traditional School

Legacy Traditional School in Marley Park is an “A” ranked district by the Arizona Department of Education and has been voted the #1 charter school in Arizona by Ranking Arizona. A K-8 charter school with state-of-the-art classrooms for kindergarten, elementary and middle school (jr. high), Legacy’s back-to-basics and accelerated curriculum is encompassed in a learning environment that focuses on character building, patriotism, and the responsibilities of being a good citizen. Legacy also offers after school and summer programs that are an extension of their academics.

Luke Elementary School

Luke Elementary School is a K-8 public school and is part of the Dysart Unified School District.

The Global International Academy at Luke Elementary School is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with an opportunity to think both globally and locally. Students will have online world language learning as well as practice communicating effectively with diverse audiences. The interconnectedness approach to study is a hallmark of this academy. It is an inquiry-driven approach to teaching and learning that is anchored in the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards

Dysart High School

Dysart High School has a well-established reputation for empowering students to learn, grow and achieve their goals. The school offers a myriad of clubs and activities, ranging from academic and athletic to music and business. The students have access to many academic and social resources that will prepare them for life after high school.

Communiversity @ Surprise

Just blocks from Marley Park in the Civic Center Complex is Communiversity @ Surprise. A partnership of several higher education institutions, students continue their education pursuing advance degrees in one location and a variety of formats.

Get Involved!

Marley Park’s clubs and groups make it easy for residents to connect, come together, and give back. From recreational, cultural and service groups to activities and events, Marley Park’s clubs help create a vibrant, thriving community.

Have an interest you want to share or pursue? The Marley Park Community Association always invites new clubs to continue making life in Marley Park dynamic, enjoyable, and rewarding. Check out some of the clubs already formed by Marley Park residents:

The Marley Park Aces Up Poker Club: Card sharks and new players alike enjoy bluffing, betting, and catching up with neighbors and friends over a card table. The club game is Texas Hold’em, but they’ve been known to change it up to keep things interesting.

Marley Park Garden Club: Gardeners are wonderful at sharing – from a start of their favorite plant, to growing tips. Get dirty with members who maintaining their own individual gardens, or help tend the beautiful community garden at the west end of Arbor Park.

Adventures Kids Club: Geared toward 7-12 year olds who are ready for more independent decision-making, kids love creating the direction of their own club…adventure, and maybe secret handshakes, await!

Volunteering is a vital part of Marley Park’s community. Volunteers contribute their time, effort, and talent giving back to Marley Park and the community of Surprise, enriching the neighborhood and investing in the lives of others. Leading clubs, hosting community events, or contributing to our printed Neighborhood News and online community, volunteers are the foundation of our community.

Outside Marley Park, our volunteers spend time at soup kitchens and food banks, host charitable clothing drives, volunteer at Marley Park Elementary School, and organize fundraisers for various Northwest Valley charities.

Fostering Community
The Marley Park Community Association (MPCA), an Arizona nonprofit organization, helps Marley Park develop and sustain a special sense of community. The MPCA Team works in partnership with residents to promote and fulfill common goals of community, lifelong learning, and health and wellness. The Association routinely:

  • Invites residents to share their time, talents, and ideas in creating an active and caring community.
  • Establishes community traditions, activities, and programs that create lasting memories and community pride.
  • Supports communication for residents to share information and stay connected, including our community web portal MarleyPark.net.
  • Ensures compliance with its community standards through education, respectful communication, and grassroots support.

West Valley Arts Council
The West Valley Arts Council (WVAC) is expanding its reach and presence in the Northwest Valley through a partnership with the Marley Park community. The partnership allows the Council to provide a variety of arts programming, including exhibits, performances, arts education, and public art programs throughout the Southwest and Northwest Valley.

Through the WVAC, Marley Park residents enjoy Arts Camp, Concerts on the Lawn, the Taste of the Arts event, and various art exhibits. Events are held throughout the community and are open to Marley Park residents and members of the larger community.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park

Verrado is nestled into the foothills of Maricopa County’s largest park, the spectacular and rugged White Tank Mountain Regional Park. The White Tanks encompass a massive 30,000 acres of Phoenix and Buckeye, with more than 20 miles of shared-use trails for hiking, mountain biking, running, and equestrian.

Residents and visitors also enjoy the Nature Center and Library in White Tank Mountain Regional Park, filled with resources and programs that help parents and kids alike experience and interact with the environment. Through engaging special events like snake feedings and animal spotlighting adventures, the park and its programs make it easy for residents to get in touch with nature, and the wildlife that surrounds them.

In Verrado, we believe that life is better when neighbors play together. That’s why health and fitness and also recreational programs are an important patr of our community.


A special philanthropic program, The Giving Tree is a program that celebrates Verrado’s extraordinary commitment to volunteerism and charitable endeavors. The Giving Tree supports organizations and causes near and dear to the hearts of the Verrado community, including monthly service trips to the Phoenix Rescue Mission, the annual Feed My Starving Children MobilePack, and the Joy of Giving holiday gift drive.

Annual Celebrations

To help Marley Park residents get to know their neighbors and create cherished memories, the Marley Park Community Association plans annual celebrations for the community.

Home for the Holidays gingerbread+

Marley Park residents look forward to opportunities to get together to connect with their neighbors, enjoy Marley Park’s exclusive amenities, and make memories that last a lifetime. Highlights of the events and community gatherings throughout the year include:

Volunteer Appreciation:
Each spring the community honors four of its outstanding volunteer leaders for their service within Marley Park and our greater community.

Star-Spangled Celebration:
Marley Park’s annual Fourth of July celebration begins with a patriotic parade and concludes with a pool party like no other, including family friendly games, competitions, music, and of course delicious BBQ food.

Homestead Harvest Festival:
Our charming October tradition includes our Pawstume Parade where furry friends dress up to strut their stuff. Residents also enjoy pumpkin carving and the annual Boo Bash carnival with costume and chili cook-off contests.

Home for the Holidays:
December brings cool weather and festive spirits to Marley Park. With carolers, photos with Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, and “snow,” there’s no better way to celebrate the spirit of the season.
